Xiaomi, Redmi & POCO Android Support

Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO are the most modder-friendly Android brands — and also the trickiest because of MIUI, HyperOS, the Mi Unlock waiting period and frequent firmware policy changes. We support every series across Snapdragon and Mediatek, in Global, EEA, Russia, India and China firmware variants. From a quick MIUI debloat to a complete LineageOS install on a POCO F5, we have done it.

Xiaomi / Redmi / POCO Compatibility Matrix

Most Snapdragon-powered Xiaomi devices since 2020 are unlockable, rootable and ROM-friendly. Mediatek and Go Edition models have stricter limits.

Xiaomi / Redmi / POCO unlock + ROM compatibility (MIUI 12–14, HyperOS 1–2)
Series Bootloader Unlock Root Custom ROM Notes
Xiaomi 14 / 14 Pro / 14 Ultra Limited HyperOS — Mi Unlock waiting period applies (7+ days)

Xiaomi / Redmi / POCO FAQs

Why does Xiaomi make me wait 168 hours to unlock the bootloader?

Xiaomi/HyperOS enforces a Mi Unlock waiting period (7 days minimum, sometimes 30+ days for new accounts) tied to your Mi Account age and login history. We can sometimes shorten this with account-aging tricks but cannot fully eliminate it on current HyperOS versions. We always tell you the realistic wait based on your specific account before starting.

My Redmi shows "This Mi account is locked. Please contact support". Can you fix it?

Yes — Mi Account lock (also called Mi Cloud lock) typically triggers when a previous owner reported the device as lost or you failed too many sign-in attempts. We remove Mi Cloud lock on most Redmi and POCO models via test-point or EDL methods. We do verify ownership (IMEI check + purchase proof) before starting because we will not service stolen devices.

Can I install LineageOS on my Xiaomi?

Yes on most Snapdragon-based Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO models from 2020 onward. Mediatek-based models have weaker custom ROM support but still work for stock-based debloated builds. We check your exact model on the official LineageOS device list and tell you which ROMs are stable, which are buggy and which are not yet ported before flashing anything.

How do I change my Xiaomi from China ROM to Global ROM (or vice versa)?

We flash the official MIUI/HyperOS Global, EEA, Russia or China firmware via Mi Flash Tool over fastboot. China-to-Global flash requires bootloader unlock first; Global-to-Global region swaps usually do not. The process takes 30–90 minutes, restores Play Store on China models, and gives you the correct keyboard, language and OTA channel for your region.

Will rooting my Xiaomi break MIUI features or HyperOS apps?

Mostly no. Magisk root on Xiaomi keeps MIUI/HyperOS, Mi Cloud, theme store and most system apps working. Banking apps and Google Wallet require Play Integrity bypass (we install Shamiko + DenyList). The only feature that breaks consistently is Mi Pay in China, and on HyperOS some "secure" apps (Banking SDK v3) need additional patches we apply during setup.
